Amazon has issued a “sincerely apologise” to a businesswoman who was not allowed to bring her breastfed baby to a course at its Fife campus. Rachael Bews had told the company in advance that she would need to breastfeed her five-month-old daughter during the day. Her plan, she said, was for her husband to care for the baby elsewhere on the Amazon campus while she attended the workshops. Despite this arrangement, she was barred from bringing the child. The tech giant later expressed regret, saying it was “sincerely sorry” for the incident. The apology comes amid growing scrutiny of workplace policies for breastfeeding mothers.
