Anna Money has completed a double acquisition of company formation platform Business Data Group (BDG) and small business community platform UK Business Forums (UKBF), buying the pair from their founder, Richard Osborne.
The UK fintech’s back-to-back purchases bring together two established players in the small business space. BDG provides corporate registration tools, while UK Business Forums operates as a community platform for entrepreneurs and small firms.
“UK fintech Anna Money acquires BDG and UK Business Forums from founder Richard Osborne”
The deal, whose financial terms were not disclosed, marks a strategic push by Anna Money into the company formation and business support ecosystem. By owning both platforms, the fintech gains direct access to startups and growing businesses at the point of incorporation—a critical moment when founders often need banking, accounting and lending services.
Richard Osborne, who founded both businesses, has exited after building BDG and UKBF into recognised names among UK small business owners. The acquisitions underline the continuing consolidation in the UK’s fintech and business services sector, where platforms that serve the same customer base are being merged to create end-to-end offerings.
For Anna Money, the immediate benefit is a ready-made funnel of new company registrations and a built-in audience of business owners who already engage with the forums. How the company will integrate the platforms—and whether it will cross-sell its financial products to BDG and UKBF users—remains to be seen.
