Arsenal have expressed interest in signing Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, as Tottenham turn their attention to West Ham's Mateus Fernandes after a rejected bid for Sandro Tonali.
The 28-year-old Brazil international is a summer target for Mikel Arteta, according to a Mail report. Guimaraes has been a key figure for Newcastle since joining from Lyon in 2022.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have accelerated their pursuit of Fernandes after seeing a second bid for Tonali rejected. Spurs boss Roberto de Zerbi is a long-time admirer of the Italy international, who has four years left on his contract at St James' Park. Newcastle are understood to want about £100m for the 26-year-old, who signed a new deal to repay the faith shown in him during his 10-month ban for breaching betting rules.
Tottenham's latest offer, believed to be worth about £80m, was turned down. The club have now moved quickly for West Ham's 21-year-old Portugal international Fernandes, with talks described as progressing positively. West Ham are understood to want around £80m for the midfielder, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Paris St-Germain.
Spurs have made a fast start in the transfer market, having already signed four players this summer, including goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a free transfer from Burnley.
Arsenal's interest in Guimaraes comes as they look to strengthen their midfield options. The north London side are yet to make a formal bid, but their pursuit adds another layer to a busy summer window.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have had a £100m bid for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande rejected, while Crystal Palace are demanding £50m for defender Maxence Lacroix, a target for Chelsea.
