Arsenal launch Bruno Guimaraes bid as Man Utd agree personal terms with Mateus Fernandes

Arsenal have launched a move for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, with the Gunners hoping to land the Brazilian in a deal that could reshape Mikel Arteta’s midfield. The bid comes as Manchester United have agreed personal terms with West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, although Tottenham are accelerating their pursuit of the same player.

Elliot Anderson is set to become Manchester City’s first signing of the summer after the England midfielder agreed to leave Nottingham Forest. Anderson is now expected to undergo a medical before sealing a move to the Etihad, in a deal that underlines City’s intent to refresh their squad.

Liverpool are reportedly attempting to hijack a £69m transfer, though the target of that bid is not named in the reports. The Anfield club are among several Premier League sides active in the market as the World Cup in the United States continues to dominate the football calendar.

Arsenal are also tracking Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi, with the Morocco midfielder open to a switch to the Emirates. Lille have set a lofty asking price for the 18-year-old, and Manchester United are expected to compete for his signature. Meanwhile, the Gunners have been linked with Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Manu Kone, who is said to favour a move to the Premier League champions.

Tottenham have been busy this summer, confirming three deals already and a fourth with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka joining as a free agent. Spurs have also been linked with Sandro Tonali as Lucas Bergvall looks set to leave. The club have handed goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky a new five-year contract with the option of a further year, according to The Athletic. Kinsky joined in 2025 from Slavia Prague and played all seven games under Roberto De Zerbi as Spurs survived relegation. His new deal comes after a difficult spell against Atletico Madrid, where he was hauled off in the first half following two errors.

Manchester City’s move for Anderson was the first major story of the day, but the market is moving quickly. With United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham all jostling for position, the summer window is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in years.
