Arsenal and Liverpool circle Barcola but baulk at PSG asking price

Arsenal and Liverpool are both pursuing Paris St-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, but neither club is willing to meet the French champions' asking price, according to reports. PSG are not opposed to selling the 23-year-old France international, who has reportedly asked to leave the club. The transfer tug-of-war is set to intensify in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been handed a clear indication to move for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 18-year-old outshone a Brazil midfield including Casemiro in Morocco's 1-1 World Cup draw on Saturday night. Lille were believed to want at least £60m before the tournament, but that figure could rise after Bouaddi's display. Arsenal have been tracking the teenager since 2025.

In defence, Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite is attracting interest from Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich. The Toffees have set a price tag of at least £70m for the 23-year-old, who is recovering from a hamstring injury but expected to be fit for pre-season. Manchester United have been repeatedly linked with Branthwaite, a previous target for the club.

Brighton have rejected a reported £20m bid from Coventry City for goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, 24. The Seagulls are holding out for a higher fee for the English shot-stopper.

Nottingham Forest have submitted a near-£25m bid for Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira, 26, who impressed on loan at Hamburg last season. Forest may also add Inter Milan's Davide Frattesi, 26, who is out of favour at the San Siro.

Bayern Munich are prepared to beat Barcelona to the signing of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, 28, while Barcelona are monitoring 18-year-old Australian defender Lucas Herrington of MLS side Colorado Rapids. Former Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, 37, and ex-Bayern midfielder Leon Goretzka, 31, could move to MLS side Chicago Fire.

Roberto Mancini is ready for a second spell as Italy head coach after leaving Qatari club Al-Sadd. The 61-year-old previously led Italy to Euro 2020 glory.

With Arsenal and Liverpool both keen on Barcola but unwilling to meet PSG's valuation, the forward's future remains uncertain. The Gunners may instead turn their attention to Bouaddi, while Liverpool continue to search for attacking reinforcements.
