Arsenal prepare new Bruno Guimaraes bid as Man City strike Elliot Anderson deal

Arsenal are preparing a fresh offer for Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes after seeing their first verbal offer rebuffed, as the summer transfer window accelerates across the Premier League.

The Gunners are expected to bolster their midfield options and have also been linked with Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi, for whom the French club have set a lofty asking price. The Morocco midfielder is said to be open to an Emirates Stadium switch. Another name in the frame is Manu Kone, who has been touted with a move to the Premier League champions and has been dubbed France’s best by some observers.

While Arsenal plot their next move, Manchester City have struck a deal for Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson. The England star is set to undergo a medical before sealing a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester United, meanwhile, remain in the driving seat for Mateus Fernandes after agreeing personal terms with the West Ham midfielder, though Tottenham are accelerating their pursuit. Spurs have already been busy this summer, confirming three deals and making a fourth official with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka joining as a free agent.

Tottenham’s spending spree is expected to continue. According to Alfredo Pedulla, they are pushing to sign Cody Gakpo and Omar Marmoush, though their prices are described as "sky high". The market, Pedulla says, poses the chance for Spurs to forget last season.
