Leandro Trossard is on his way to Istanbul. Arsenal have agreed a transfer fee with Besiktas for the Belgium forward, and the 31-year-old has been given permission to travel for a medical. The Turkish Super Lig side confirmed the deal in a statement: “Negotiations have commenced with professional football player Leandro Trossard and his club Arsenal regarding his permanent transfer.”
Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton for £21m plus add-ons in January 2023 and has since scored 36 goals with 34 assists in 174 appearances. He was a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s side, helping them win last season’s Premier League title and starting in the Champions League final defeat by Paris St-Germain. Internationally, Trossard started all six games for Belgium at this summer’s World Cup, scoring twice as they reached the quarter-finals.
“Arsenal have agreed a fee to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas, with the forward heading to Istanbul for a medical.”
The sale marks the first hurdle cleared for Arsenal’s priority target, Morgan Rogers, as the Gunners reshape their squad. Arteta is pushing for the signing, though no further details have emerged on negotiations with the player or his club.
