Bellingham double fires 10-man England past Mexico in World Cup thriller

Jude Bellingham scored twice and Harry Kane converted a penalty as 10-man England held on for a thrilling 3-2 victory against Mexico to set up a World Cup quarter-final with Norway. The win at the Azteca Stadium was one of the most dramatic nights in England’s history.

Bellingham’s first-half brace put England 2-0 up before Julian Quinones pulled one back for Mexico. The momentum shifted dramatically when Jarell Quansah was sent off for a horror tackle on Jesus Gallardo. Despite being reduced to 10 men for almost the entire second half, England restored their two-goal lead through a Kane penalty.

Raul Jimenez converted a penalty of his own to make it 3-2, but England clung on for more than half an hour to secure their place in the last eight. The Three Lions will now face Norway in the quarter-finals.

Kane later addressed the challenge of playing at altitude in Mexico City, but the captain’s verdict was overshadowed by the team’s heroic defensive display after Quansah’s red card. England’s ability to withstand sustained Mexican pressure will give them confidence heading into the next round.
