Disturbing footage captures the moment a 21-year-old woman in Brazil was hurled from a bridge to her death after workers at a bungee-jumping event appeared to forget to attach the safety rope. The video, shared widely on social media, shows team members carrying the as-yet unnamed woman to the edge of Skeleton Bridge in Limeira, in São Paulo state. She is then thrown over the side as people in the background shout about the rope. The incident took place at Trilha da Ponte do Esqueleto, a location known for adventure activities. The Military Police said she was taking part in a bungee jump organised by a private company.
Just minutes before her death, the woman uploaded a photo of the scene on Instagram with the caption: “Who was the crazy person who let me come jump off a bridge???” Her fiancé, who was also at the bridge, became ill after learning she had died and was taken for medical attention. Emergency services attended but could only certify her death. Her body was transferred to the Legal Medical Institute. The Civil Police have launched an investigation and will determine whether anyone involved faces criminal charges.

The Limeira City Council has confirmed it will file a complaint against the Brazilian federal government. The mayor of Limeira, Murilo Félix, said: “It is necessary to determine responsibility for the lack of access control to a federal area that has presented known risks for years and still lacks the necessary protection measures.” The case raises questions about safety standards at adventure tourism sites as authorities seek those responsible for the fatal error.
