Brentford are on the verge of signing Burnley forward Jaidon Anthony for a fee that could reach £17m, with the 26-year-old scheduled to undergo a medical on Monday. The deal, worth an initial £15m plus £2m in add-ons, would see Anthony agree a four-year contract with an option for an extra season, according to sources close to the negotiations.
Anthony contributed nine goals and four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions last season, but his efforts were not enough to prevent Burnley from being relegated from the Premier League. The winger, a Londoner who began his career at Arsenal’s academy, is attracted by the move to Brentford, where manager Keith Andrews sees him as a strong fit for his playing style.
“Brentford are finalising a £15m-£17m deal for Burnley forward Jaidon Anthony, who is set for a medical on Monday.”
Anthony left Arsenal in 2016 without making a senior appearance, eventually establishing himself at Bournemouth after loan spells at Weymouth and Leeds United. He joined Burnley on loan in 2024, and the move was made permanent last summer for an £8m obligation-to-buy clause following promotion to the top flight. However, Burnley’s return to the Premier League lasted just one season, and they will open their Championship campaign against West Ham on 16 August.
Brentford narrowly missed out on European qualification, finishing ninth on goal difference, and will begin their new Premier League season against Tottenham. The club have already bolstered their squad this summer, signing defender Jannik Schuster from RB Salzburg in a deal worth up to £16m including add-ons.
