Two women hospitalised after car plunges off motorway bridge near Glasgow Airport

Two women were taken to hospital after a car crashed through a barrier on Renfrew Road and plunged off a bridge onto the M8 below near Glasgow Airport. The motorway was closed at 8.40pm on Thursday following the single-vehicle crash at the White Cart Viaduct in Paisley. Footage shared online shows the smashed car surrounded by debris as bystanders peer into the windows. Police Scotland said the M8 westbound at Junction 27 and Renfrew Road between the Abbotsinch Retail Park roundabout and Arkleston Road roundabout reopened after midnight. Officers confirmed the two females were taken to hospital for treatment.
