Kasper Hogh is due to have a medical with Celtic within the next 24 hours, manager Martin O'Neill has revealed, as the Scottish champions close in on a club record £11m deal for the Bodo/Glimt striker.
Speaking after Saturday's 2-2 pre-season friendly draw with AC Milan at Celtic Park, O'Neill said the 25-year-old Denmark international was on the verge of joining. "Yes, I'm hoping that that will happen," he told reporters. "I think there's a good chance of it. But until someone's actually signed and sealed, there might be things still up in the air, but it's certainly progressing."

Asked if Hogh was about to undergo a medical, O'Neill confirmed: "Yes, apparently so. He will have one in the next 24 hours, I think."
The move would smash Celtic's transfer record, with reports claiming they have agreed a £11m fee with the Norwegian champions. Hogh's arrival would ease pressure on the board and management after the sale of fan favourite Daizen Maeda to Ipswich Town on Saturday.
So far this summer, Celtic have made only one signing, Colombian forward Camilo Duran, who has scored three goals in three warm-up games. The club have also been strongly linked with Paderborn midfielder Mika Baur. When asked if signing the 22-year-old German was a possibility, O'Neill said: "That, I genuinely can't tell you. I genuinely cannot tell you at this minute. I've been preparing for this game. I'll see where we are tomorrow and things. We've got a few other things in the pipeline that might come to fruition, which would be great for us."
Hogh's career has been a slow burner. He came through the youth ranks at local club Randers but was sold to second-tier Hobro after an injury-hit spell that included a loan to Valur in Iceland. A move to Danish Superliga side AaB followed in January 2022, but he was on the move again a year later, this time to Stabaek, who had just been promoted to the Norwegian Eliteserien.
It was at Stabaek that Hogh's career took off. They exercised their purchase option only six months into his year-long loan after he scored eight goals in 14 games. Within another three months, he signed a pre-contract agreement with Bodo/Glimt to join their top-flight rivals in January 2024.
Hogh finished as his new club's top scorer with 12 goals as they retained the Norwegian title, and his seven goals in the Europa League made him the competition's joint top marksman as they reached the semi-finals. He was also the club's top scorer for 2025 with 17 goals.
