Denmark striker Kasper Hogh has described Celtic as a "really good match" after becoming the club's record signing in a reported £11m deal from Bodo/Glimt. The 25-year-old, who scored 54 goals in 103 games for the Norwegian champions, signed a four-year contract with the option of a further year.
Hogh's arrival eases fan pressure on the Celtic board following the departure of Japan forward Daizen Maeda to Premier League side Ipswich Town for a reported £10m. Maeda, 28, scored 79 goals in 212 appearances for Celtic, winning five league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League cups.

"I'm so happy," Hogh told Celtic TV. "When I came into the room and saw the shirt, I was really excited. The history of the club is so big. I spoke with some people and with my family about the club. The feeling they had, and the feeling I had in my stomach, was that this was a really good match."
Hogh is Celtic's second summer signing after Camilo Duran. The Dane's career has been a slow burner: he came through the youth ranks at Randers, was sold to second-tier Hobro after an injury-hit spell including a loan to Valur in Iceland, then moved to AaB in January 2022. A year later he joined Stabaek, where his career took off after scoring eight goals in 14 games. Within three months he signed a pre-contract with Bodo/Glimt, joining in January 2024.
At Bodo/Glimt, Hogh finished as top scorer with 12 goals as they retained the Norwegian title, and his seven goals in the Europa League made him the competition's joint top marksman as they reached the semi-finals. He was also the club's top scorer for 2025 with 17 goals. In January, he scored a double in a 3-1 Champions League win over Manchester City and netted again in a 2-1 victory at Atletico Madrid. Hogh made his Denmark senior debut in March.
"I like to be in the box and score goals, but I also want to help my team-mates defensively and work hard for the team," he added. "I've trained throughout the summer and I've already played league games in Norway, so I feel ready. I just want to get started and be thrown into the fire."
Maeda, who joined Celtic in 2022 from Yokohama F Marinos, posted a farewell to the "Celtic family", saying the last four and a half years were "the most special chapter of my career and my life". Ipswich manager Gary O'Neil said Maeda would be "a valuable member" of his squad. Maeda joins the Tractor Boys following their promotion back to the Premier League after finishing second in the Championship under Kieran McKenna.
