A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder after a stabbing on Clapham High Street in the early hours of Saturday morning. Javed Khan is accused of killing Abdulkadir Mahamed, who was taken to hospital with stab wounds at 4.37am, the Metropolitan Police said. Khan also faces a charge of violent disorder arising from the same incident.
Six men were arrested on suspicion of murder, including three aged 22 and a fourth aged 24 who was also taken to hospital with stab wounds. On Monday, Scotland Yard said a 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody after receiving hospital treatment for injuries. The men treated in hospital for stab wounds have now been released with no further action.

Khan is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday alongside Adonay Berhan, 27, who is accused of assisting an offender. According to the charges, Berhan allegedly drove away from the scene to “impede the apprehension or prosecution” of a third man also suspected of murder. Both Khan and Berhan remain in custody.
Police believe Mr Mahamed was stabbed close to Tremadoc Road in Clapham. Superintendent Mark Gallacher, the policing lead for the area, said: “This is a tragic incident and our officers continue to support the family of the young man who has sadly died. We understand that this will cause concern among the local community and specialist detectives are doing everything possible to determine what has happened.”
