Dozens of Cumbria companies vanish from register as 62 dissolve in June

More than 60 businesses in Cumbria ceased to exist in June, wiped from the Companies House register in a single month that has left a hole in the local economy.

A total of 62 companies were formally dissolved, according to the official register, which lists every business that has been struck off or wound up. Among those that vanished were Logical Actions Project Delivery Ltd, the Lake District Sausage and Bacon Company Limited, and E & S Education Services Limited.

The list, compiled by area, was published by the Times & Star in a report by senior reporter Erin Gaskell. It comes as part of an exclusive subscriber partnership with USA Today.

Companies House, the government agency that maintains the register, records dissolutions when a company is no longer trading or has been liquidated. The June figure represents the total number of businesses across all sectors and locations within Cumbria that were officially removed from the registry.

While the individual reasons for each dissolution are not made public in the list, the sheer volume suggests a challenging period for the region's business community. The Lake District Sausage and Bacon Company, for example, was a food producer in a area known for tourism and agriculture. Its disappearance may be felt by local suppliers and customers.

Logical Actions Project Delivery Ltd and E & S Education Services Ltd, both based in Cumbria, also ceased operations. No further details were provided in the register about their circumstances.

Local business leaders will be watching closely to see if June’s dissolution rate is an anomaly or a sign of deeper trouble. With 62 companies gone in a single month, the impact on employment and local supply chains remains unclear.
