EuroMillions £50m jackpot rolls over as no winner claims top prize

No one won the £50m EuroMillions jackpot in Tuesday night's draw, triggering a rollover that will see the prize swell further. The winning numbers were 2, 3, 8, 28 and 39, with Lucky Stars 2 and 11. A UK player matched five main numbers to pocket £40,243, while a total of 407,292 UK winners shared smaller prizes. Almost 1.4 million players won something across Europe.

The Thunderball draw also failed to produce a top prize winner. The winning numbers were 27, 32, 30, 36 and 19, with Thunderball 3. The biggest prize for any player was £250, awarded to those who matched four numbers plus the Thunderball. In total, £439,455 in Thunderball prizes will be claimed.

A Mirror poll suggests most winners would keep their good fortune secret: 76% said they wouldn't tell anyone, while just 4% would shout about it. Twenty per cent would only tell close friends and family.

While tonight's draws disappointed, players are already eyeing the National Lottery's new Powerball, launching Thursday with a £1bn jackpot. Tickets cost £4 per line and must be bought by 11.55pm Wednesday. Psychic Inbaal Honigman has offered number tips based on star signs: she says number 1 suits confident Aries and adventurous Sagittarius; number 11 could be lucky for sensitive Pisces and Gemini; number 22 is great for optimistic Leo and ambitious Capricorn; number 18 works for enigmatic Scorpio and esoteric Aquarius; number 26 resonates with Libra and sensible Virgo; and number 10 suits family-minded Cancer and Taurus.

Miloš Marković, editorial director of Live Casinos, advises creating a 'balanced selection' and joining a lottery pool, adding: 'Most importantly, lottery tickets should always be viewed as entertainment rather than a guaranteed way to make money. Set a budget, play responsibly, and only spend what you are comfortable with.'
