Thousands of Facebook users were greeted with an ‘Account Temporarily Unavailable’ error message this morning, as a site issue locked them out of the platform. DownDetector recorded a spike in searches for ‘Facebook down’ just before 9am, with 32% of reports relating to the website itself, 26% to login issues, and 22% to feed or timeline problems. Users took to X to vent their frustration. ‘Uh oh, #FacebookDown,’ wrote one user, Kiera, alongside a screenshot of the error. Another, Athan Hilaki, posted: ‘Nooooo! Facebook is down?’
Separately, thousands of homes in Kent had water supplies restored after an ‘instrument failure’ at a water treatment works forced it to shut down. The restoration followed a period without water for affected residents. No further details on the failure or the number of homes were provided.
