A woman who described her family life as 'like living in a Hallmark movie' before exposing her husband's affair on Reddit has been found dead alongside her six children in a suspected murder-suicide.
Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, shot his wife Amanda, 39, and their six children, aged five to 15, before setting their Grand Haven Township home on fire and turning the gun on himself, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said Monday. All eight deaths were caused by gunshot wounds.

The discovery on Friday morning brought a devastating end to a story Amanda had shared in heartbreaking detail on the 'As One After Infidelity' section of Reddit in 2024. She had exposed her husband's affair with an intern at his workplace – the same age she was when she was the intern.
'He was divorced and older than me … fast forward ten years and five kids, he was cheating with the intern again,' she wrote. Despite the betrayal, she found the idea of leaving 'insanely terrifying' and strained to hold the family together.
'I kept telling myself, "I love my kids more than I hate my husband right now." They have no idea – faked it 'till we made it,' she posted. She described 'major red flags' she ignored due to her own trauma and his toxic upbringing, and said things had turned physical between the couple.
Police believe Kristopher, whose employment at the American Heart Association had been 'ended' days before the killings, shot them all before setting the fire. The family's pets also perished.
