Fifteen people were arrested and weapons seized after an anti-migrant protest in Glasgow descended into violence, with rival demonstrators clashing at Glasgow Green.
The trouble began when scores of anti-migrant protesters were seen running towards an anti-fascist group, prompting a large police response. Officers on horseback and around a dozen vans were deployed to the scene to separate the two sides.

Police Scotland confirmed 15 arrests and said further arrests would be made as investigations continue. Weapons were also recovered during the operation, though details of what was seized have not been released.
The protest, organised by the far-right group Unite the Clans, drew counter-demonstrators who had gathered to oppose the anti-immigration message. The confrontation turned violent, with police intervening to prevent further escalation.
Assistant Chief Constable (name not provided) said officers acted swiftly to contain the disorder. “We will not tolerate violent disorder on our streets,” he added, vowing to hold those responsible to account.
The area remained cordoned off for several hours as police conducted inquiries and cleared the scene. With 15 already in custody and more arrests promised, the fallout from Saturday’s unrest is far from over.
