Bruno Guimaraes asks to leave Newcastle as Arsenal circle; Man Utd agree £50m Santos deal

Bruno Guimaraes has asked to leave Newcastle United this summer, with Arsenal preparing a bid for the Brazil midfielder. The Newcastle captain wants to join the Gunners, but the club insist he is not for sale under any circumstances. Newcastle have already moved to strengthen their midfield, signing Sean Steur from Ajax and agreeing a £50million-plus deal for Switzerland’s Johan Manzambi.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have agreed a £50million deal with Chelsea to sign Andrey Santos, who is undergoing a medical. The Brazilian could be joined at Old Trafford by veteran goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who is close to moving from Leeds United. The Red Devils are also pursuing other targets as they look to bolster their squad.

Arsenal are closing in on a £35million deal for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, according to reports. The 24-year-old former Norwich City man is expected to replace Leandro Trossard, who is set to join Besiktas for £17million. The Gunners are also accelerating their pursuit of Guimaraes, who has reportedly agreed personal terms with the club.

Elsewhere, Wolves have agreed a £7.7million deal for Standard Liege winger Rafiki Saïd as they aim for an instant Premier League return. The transfer window continues to heat up with several major moves on the horizon.
