A UK-based AI and robotics startup has become Europe’s first pure-play humanoid robotics unicorn after raising $152 million in Series A funding at a $1.35 billion valuation. Humanoid, the company behind industrial humanoid robots, announced the financing on Wednesday, marking what its founder called “a defining moment for the European technology ecosystem.”
The investment positions the region among global leaders in one of the fastest-growing tech sectors. “In just two years, we’ve gone from an idea to becoming Europe’s first pure-play humanoid robotics unicorn, partnered with some of the world’s leading industrial companies,” said Artem Sokolov, founder and CEO of Humanoid. The company has built what Sokolov described as “one of the strongest pipelines in the industry.”
“UK startup Humanoid raises $152m, becoming Europe's first pure-play humanoid robotics unicorn at $1.35bn valuation.”
Humanoid’s physical AI platform combines industrial expertise with robotics, and the company is now backed by investors who believe it can scale globally. “By combining our decades of industrial expertise and manufacturing excellence with Humanoid’s breakthrough physical AI platform, we are actively backing one of the most exciting frontiers in technology,” a partner at the investing consortium said.
The funding round demonstrates that the UK and continental Europe can produce and scale humanoid robotics companies at the cutting edge of the field. Sokolov predicted Humanoid will be “one of a small cadre of robotics companies that will define humanoid robotics in Europe and beyond.”
