Jack Grealish has been left out of Manchester City’s pre-season tour of Asia as he continues his recovery from a foot injury sustained during a loan spell at Everton. The 30-year-old returned to the Etihad this summer after spending the entire 2025/26 campaign with the Toffees, where his contributions were limited by the injury.
New City boss Enzo Maresca acknowledged Grealish’s presence at the club, saying last week: “At the moment, he's here. He's a Man City player… I have a good relation with Jack since I left. Also, we keep in touch, and the reason why is because he has a big heart and he's a very good guy. So this is the reason why. And then we see what happens.”
“Jack Grealish left out of Man City Asia tour due to foot injury sustained at Everton.”
Grealish has made 157 appearances for City since his £100m move from Aston Villa, scoring 17 goals and winning three Premier League titles and a Champions League. He has one year left on his contract.
Former Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor tipped Grealish for a move abroad, saying: “I don't see him staying there, I see him moving on. It wouldn't surprise me if he moves somewhere else in Europe, I don't see him staying in the Premier League… don't rule out maybe going back to Everton, David Moyes loved him.”
City are set to face Inter Milan in Hong Kong before matches against the K-League All-Stars and Atletico Madrid in South Korea. Grealish will not be part of that squad as he focuses on his recovery.
In other transfer news, a Chelsea star has flown back from the club’s pre-season tour in Australia to seal a move away from Stamford Bridge, cutting short his stay Down Under. The identity of the player and destination remain undisclosed, but the exit appears imminent.
