England captain Harry Kane leaves country music concert early to make curfew

England captain Harry Kane had to leave a US country music concert three songs early to make curfew — the day after scoring twice in England’s 4-2 World Cup win over Croatia.

Kane, Dan Burn and goalkeeper Jason Steele used a day off granted by manager Thomas Tuchel to watch rising star Ella Langley perform in Independence, Missouri. Langley, best known for her chart-topping hit Choosin’ Texas, drew a crowd that included three members of England’s World Cup squad.

Harry Kane left an Ella Langley concert early to make curfew after scoring twice in England's World Cup win.

"We got asked to go and watch Ella Langley. I was the only person suited and booted with cowboy hat, jeans, the lot," said Newcastle United defender Burn. "Harry and Steeley managed to meet Ella before the gig, but I turned up a little bit later."

But the night out ended abruptly. "We missed the last three songs because we had to be back for curfew, which I was a bit gutted about because those are her best ones," Burn added.

Burn revealed that Kane is a "big country music fan". He said: "There's a record player in the hotel and when it's the captain's pick a lot of it is country music." The defender also noted that the team had previously been unable to see Langley perform in West Palm Beach because of the same curfew restrictions, making the Missouri show a rare opportunity.

Kane later posted pictures from the concert on Instagram, one showing him alongside Langley holding an England shirt. "Great to meet you @ellalangleymusic, thank you for having us!" he wrote. "Amazing show, keep smashing it!"
