Liverpool have turned down a verbal offer of 25m euros (£21.7m) from Inter Milan for Curtis Jones, with the Italian club's sporting director Piero Ausilio admitting they are "paying attention" to the midfielder. The bid falls well short of Liverpool's £35m valuation of the 25-year-old, who has only one year left on his Anfield contract.
This is the second time Inter have tried to sign Jones this year, having proposed a loan with a view to a permanent move in January, only to be rebuffed again. Jones, who joined Liverpool's academy aged nine and signed his first professional contract in 2018, has reportedly asked Federico Chiesa what it is like to live in Italy, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Liverpool reject Inter's £21.7m bid for Curtis Jones as Nottingham Forest eye the midfielder, while Diomande picks PSG over Liverpool.”
But the England midfielder is also a target for Nottingham Forest, with Talksport reporting that Liverpool value him in the region of £40m.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old RB Leipzig star has chosen Paris St-Germain as his next destination, snubbing reported interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid, according to The Athletic.
Another potential Liverpool target, Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche, has told the Merseyside club and Manchester United that his priority is to join PSG this summer.
Elsewhere in the transfer market, Manchester United's Mason Mount has been offered to AC Milan for a potential reunion with former United manager Ruben Amorim, though the Manchester Evening News reports there has been no contact between the clubs. Chelsea are considering a move for Rayo Vallecano's Pep Chavarria as a replacement for Marc Cucurella, who has moved to Real Madrid, according to Marca.
Arsenal are looking to add five more players in the summer window, with Leicester City's 16-year-old winger Jeremy Monga among their targets, the Star reports. However, Newcastle have yet to receive an official approach for Bruno Guimaraes despite links to the Premier League champions.
Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto has agreed to join Manchester City, eyeing a reunion with former manager Enzo Maresca, while Sunderland midfielder Granit Xhaka's personal terms with Chelsea are guaranteed, with the Swiss international driving the move to live in London and work again with Xabi Alonso, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Aston Villa are behind Leeds United in the race for Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Parma, and Juventus have added Villa's Emiliano Martinez to their list of targets.
