Nobody walked away with the £9.5m Lotto jackpot on Saturday night – but more than 1.9 million ticket-holders still ended up with more cash than usual after a Rolldown boosted lower-tier prizes.
The Lotto draw, held at 8pm on July 18, 2026, saw two rounds of numbers picked. In round one, the winning numbers were 22, 32, 34, 47, 52, 55 with a Bonus Ball of 10; round two produced 20, 29, 30, 42, 46, 55 and a Bonus Ball of 38. No player matched all six main numbers in either round, and nobody matched five numbers plus the Bonus Ball, meaning the £9.5m jackpot was not claimed.
“No winner for £9.5m Lotto jackpot on July 18, 2026, triggering a Rolldown that boosted prizes for thousands.”
Because the top prize went unclaimed – as did the £500,000 Thunderball jackpot – a Rolldown was triggered. Under National Lottery rules, the jackpot fund was shared among players who had matched two or more main numbers, giving them a significantly higher payout than normal.
A total of 87 people matched five numbers and each received £1,000. Another 6,932 people matched four numbers, winning £50 each. The biggest beneficiaries of the Rolldown were the 169,438 players who matched three numbers: they won £24 instead of the usual £10. Meanwhile, 1,756,390 players who matched two numbers took home £5 rather than the standard £1.
In the Thunderball draw, which offered a top prize of £500,000, there was also no jackpot winner. One player did match all five main numbers and won £5,000. Overall, 127,425 Thunderball players shared prizes totalling £726,892 – ranging from £3 to £250.
The odds of winning the Lotto jackpot are roughly one in 14 million, but with no winner on this occasion, the Rolldown ensured that tens of thousands of players still had a reason to check their tickets.
