Lucas Bergvall is exploring his options away from Tottenham after submitting a transfer request, with the 20-year-old Sweden midfielder keen for a new challenge. The decision comes after a difficult end to last season under Roberto de Zerbi, during which Bergvall played limited minutes and was often deployed out of his preferred position as a 'number six'.
Bergvall made 33 appearances for Spurs last season but missed two months after undergoing ankle surgery. His representatives are believed to have held talks with Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Chelsea, though Chelsea are no longer interested after briefly exploring a move in January. Tottenham have set an asking price for the midfielder, who will decide his club-level future once the World Cup has concluded.
