TV watchdog opens investigation into Married At First Sight UK as couple reveals real wedding

The media regulator has opened an investigation into the Channel 4 dating show Married At First Sight (MAFS) UK following a "fairness and privacy" complaint. The probe comes as one of the show’s most successful couples, Jenna and Zoe, have revealed they tied the knot in an intimate garden ceremony.

Jenna, 36, and Zoe, 34, met on the E4 dating show in 2022, making history as the first ever lesbian couple to appear on the series. After getting engaged in 2024, the pair exchanged vows in a small garden party — exactly as Jenna had hoped. “So it’s just a small garden party. It’s not in a church, it’s just going to be small and intimate,” she had said in an Instagram Q&A, adding that she wanted to do the decorations herself to make it more personal.

Photos from the day show Jenna bending down in her lace bridal gown to put on her silver sparkly shoes, the garden decorated with flowers, and a massive tent with a long bench in the middle. Guests were treated to burgers with “The Cliftons” printed on the bun, a nod to Zoe's surname. Jenna captioned the post: “The day before, morning of and aftermath of the best day of my life…I love you.”

Earlier this month, the couple revealed they would marry in under three weeks, with Zoe asking for photographer and videographer recommendations. Now, four years after meeting down the aisle as part of the bizarre social experiment, they have made their on-screen marriage a reality.
