Manchester United target £30m Summerville as Rashford's future hangs in balance

Manchester United will turn to Crysencio Summerville should Marcus Rashford leave this summer, with the West Ham winger valued at about £30m. The 24-year-old Dutchman, who was part of the Netherlands’ World Cup squad, is seen as the right profile to replace Rashford on the left flank. West Ham are open to selling since their relegation to the Championship, provided they receive a suitable offer. Summerville has three years remaining on his contract.

Rashford’s future remains uncertain after a breakdown in his relationship with United led to a six-month loan at Aston Villa in January 2025 and then a full season at Barcelona last year. An uneasy truce means he is expected to start the season at Old Trafford, but with two years left on his £17.5m-a-year deal, United prefer to offload him via a sale or loan. The difficulty lies in finding a club able to afford the 28-year-old.

Elsewhere in the market, Arsenal are preparing an offer of about £34m for RB Leipzig’s Norway winger Antonio Nusa, 21. Everton are considering a move for Manchester City right-back Rico Lewis, 21, with Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham also interested. Manchester City have informed Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi they want to bring the 18-year-old Morocco midfielder straight into the first team, and are also looking at Paris St-Germain’s Senegal forward Ibrahim Mbaye, 18. Sunderland are lining up a move for Toulouse defender Dayann Methalie, 19. Hull City are expected to finalise a £3m deal for Swedish winger Elliot Stroud, 24, and are also hopeful of signing Olympiacos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, 23.

United, after signing Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans this week for a combined initial £82m, remain intent on adding a third midfielder. Manager Michael Carrick admires Roma’s Manu Koné, Bournemouth’s Alex Scott and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, but each asking price of £60m-£80m makes a move for any of them unlikely.
