A woman was repeatedly sexually assaulted in a subway leading to Hanger Lane Tube station at around 2.30pm on Sunday 21 June – the attacker laughing as he fled into the station, according to British Transport Police.
The man approached the woman in the subway and used force to prevent her from leaving while he assaulted her. He then ran into the station, laughing.
“Police hunt a man who laughed as he fled after sexually assaulting a woman at Hanger Lane station.”
Detectives have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the attack. He is described as Indian or South Asian, in his mid to late 20s, about 5ft 7in tall, and was wearing a light-blue shirt and sunglasses.
“We believe the man in these images may have information that could assist our ongoing investigation,” the BTP said in a statement.
Anyone who recognises him has been urged to text the BTP on 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 491 of 22 June, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The brazen nature of the attack, carried out in broad daylight on a Sunday afternoon, will concern commuters using the west London station. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
