Pedro Porro signs new Tottenham contract until 2031

Pedro Porro has committed his long-term future to Tottenham Hotspur, signing a new contract understood to run until 2031. The right-back, who had two years remaining on his previous deal, has become a cornerstone of Roberto De Zerbi's squad.

Porro initially joined Spurs on loan from Sporting CP in January 2023, with an obligation to make the move permanent that summer for £40 million. Since then, he has made 152 appearances, including a team-leading 47 in all competitions last season — the most of any player under De Zerbi.

"During the past three-and-half years, he has made huge progress to become one of the best full-backs in the game," said Spurs sporting director Johan Lange. "The fact he is about to play in the World Cup for Spain is testament to that. His character, work ethic and quality are exactly what we look for when building a squad capable of competing at the highest level."

Porro is currently at the 2026 World Cup with Spain, who begin their group stage campaign on Monday against Cape Verde in Atlanta. De Zerbi praised not only his technical ability but his mentality: "Every day he wants to work, to learn and to improve. He understands football in a very intelligent way, and brings energy, intensity and personality to the team."

The Spaniard's long-term deal — reportedly through 2031 — secures a key asset for Tottenham as they aim to build a squad capable of challenging at the top. With Porro now tied down, Spurs have locked in one of the Premier League's most consistent full-backs for the foreseeable future.
