Real Madrid have forcefully denied reports they are preparing a record £190m bid for Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, issuing a statement on Saturday that said the Spanish club had not held “any direct or indirect contact” with the 24-year-old, his representatives, or anyone in his circle. The denial comes amid speculation that Madrid were willing to offer Aurelien Tchouameni or Eduardo Camavinga in part-exchange, rumours the club described as “speculation that does not correspond to reality.”
Olise, who scored 22 goals and provided 31 assists for Bayern in the 2025-26 season, is currently at the 2026 World Cup with France, where he set up Kylian Mbappe’s opener in a 3-1 win over Senegal. Bayern CEO Max Eberl has already made the club’s stance clear: “We’re not having a second to think about anything” when asked about the possibility of Olise leaving. The winger remains under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2029.
“Real Madrid deny reports of a record £190m bid for Bayern's Michael Olise, as the Frenchman impresses at the World Cup.”
Madrid, now under the management of José Mourinho, have been active in the transfer market this summer, signing Bernardo Silva on a free transfer from Manchester City, securing Marc Cucurella from Chelsea for £52m, and agreeing a four-year deal for Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate, who will join when his contract expires at the end of June. Those moves follow a failed £130m bid for Atlético Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, which was rejected.
Real president Florentino Pérez, re-elected with 65% of the vote earlier this month and now set to remain in office until 2030, had pledged to make a €150m offer for an unnamed “galáctico” if he won. The club’s statement also stressed the “excellent institutional relationship” it maintains with Bayern Munich, adding that any potential interest in a player from the other club must be addressed between the entities first.
Konate, who made 183 appearances for Liverpool and won the Premier League, FA Cup and two League Cups, said he was “deeply saddened that I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye” to the Anfield crowd after the final Premier League game of the season against Brentford on 24 May. “At that moment, I didn’t know it would be my final time wearing this shirt in front of you,” he added. The French centre-back will formally become a Real Madrid player on 30 June, signing until 2030.
