Scotland's World Cup return at 2am: Saturday's full schedule revealed

Scotland's long-awaited return to the World Cup will force fans to stay up until 2am UK time as they face Haiti at the Boston Stadium on Saturday – one of three matches scheduled for the opening day of the tournament spread across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The late-night fixture, which kicks off at 2am UK time, will be broadcast on BBC One from 1.10am, with streaming available via BBC iPlayer. Earlier in the evening, Qatar take on Switzerland in Group B at the San Francisco Stadium at 8pm, live on ITV1 from 7pm and on ITVX. Then, at 11pm, Brazil meet Morocco in Group C at the New York-New Jersey Stadium, with coverage on BBC One from 10.30pm and via BBC iPlayer.

Away from the pitch, BBC Sport has launched a new daily quiz, 'Who am I?', challenging fans to identify a World Cup star in as few guesses as possible. Each day a new footballer is set, with a clue unlocked after every wrong guess. Today's player and clues are chosen by BBC Sport's Flora Snelson. Points are awarded: three is a good score, four or five exceptional. More quizzes are available on the BBC Sport website, and fans can sign up for notifications to get the latest quizzes sent straight to their device.

The unusual kick-off times, caused by the tournament being hosted across three countries, are expected to continue throughout the group stage and into the knockout rounds, meaning fans in the UK can expect more late nights and early mornings as the World Cup progresses.
