Tottenham have completed the £85million signing of Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, with Sandro Tonali expected to follow after a £100million deal was agreed with Newcastle. The double swoop marks an aggressive start to the summer for Roberto De Zerbi’s side, who have now made five first-team additions. Fernandes arrived on Thursday as the club’s fifth signing, while Tonali is set to undergo a medical imminently after Newcastle accepted the fee.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have yet to make a single first-team signing but have entered exploratory talks with West Ham over Crysencio Summerville. The Netherlands international is valued at around £50million and is expected to leave the relegated club. United have also made contact with the representatives of Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr, according to TEAMtalk, as they look to strengthen their attack.
