West Ham star Summerville agrees £60m Al-Hilal move after relegation

Crysencio Summerville is on the verge of becoming the latest West Ham star to leave the relegated club after Al-Hilal agreed a £60m deal for the Dutch winger. The Saudi Arabian side will pay an initial £55m plus £5m in add-ons, with Summerville now expected to undergo a medical, according to BBC Sport. The 24-year-old Netherlands international had been linked with Manchester United and Roma, but the Italian club were only willing to offer around £39m, the Mirror reports. West Ham had previously rejected a £40m bid for Summerville, who scored five Premier League goals last season. His departure follows the £85m sale of midfielder Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham last month, as the Hammers continue to cut their wage bill and raise funds after relegation in May. One bright spot for West Ham is that Jarrod Bowen has committed his future to the club on an adjusted contract. Speaking about his decision to stay, Bowen said: "My main motivation is staying and bringing this club back to the Premier League where we belong. It was only right for me to speak at the right time. Ultimately it [relegation] hurt everyone and it should hurt everyone." He added: "I've been here six and a half years and transitioned from a boy to a man." West Ham have so far made only one signing this summer, Venezuelan international Keiber Lamadrid, and will aim to reinvest the Summerville fee as they bid for promotion under manager Nuno Espirito Santo. In another Championship-focused move, Middlesbrough have agreed a deal for Tottenham striker Will Lankshear that could rise to a club-record £20m. The initial fee is around £10m with a further £10m in add-ons. The 21-year-old, who scored 11 goals on loan at Oxford United last season, has yet to agree personal terms amid reported rival interest. Lankshear made his senior debut for Spurs in October 2024 and scored his first senior goal before being sent off in his next appearance away at Galatasaray. The deal would be Middlesbrough’s fourth signing of the summer, following Miles Peart-Harris, Jeremy Sarmiento and Kyle Joseph, and comes after the exit of midfielder Hayden Hackney to Everton for around £16m.
