Sarah Wilson was groomed and sexually abused as a child by groups of men in Rotherham. She has recently been told that two of the men convicted of abusing her could be eligible for early release from prison. Her case sits at the heart of growing demands for sex offenders to be excluded from a government scheme that, from this September, could see thousands of killers, rapists and sex offenders freed early to ease overcrowding in jails in England and Wales.

The prisons watchdog has said it will keep a close eye on the criminals released under the plan, amid concerns that rapists could be among them. The scheme is designed to address the prison overcrowding crisis, but survivors and campaigners argue that the most dangerous offenders should not be let back onto the streets. Sarah Wilson is one of them.
