Technology Minerals, the UK-listed company building a platform for critical resources and circular economy infrastructure, has secured a two-year extension of its St Patrick Research Permit in northwest Spain — keeping the historic Aramo Mine within its portfolio until 21 June 2028.
The permit, held through the company's wholly-owned Spanish subsidiary Asturmet Recursos S.L., gives Technology Minerals ongoing access to an advanced copper-cobalt-nickel project. In a statement, the company said the extension supports the UK's future technology, energy and defence needs by contributing to more resilient supply chains for designated critical minerals.

Technology Minerals is developing the UK's first listed, sustainable circular economy for battery metals, using cutting-edge technology to recycle, recover and re-use spent lithium-ion batteries. The company focuses on raw material exploration required for Li-ion batteries while solving the ecological problem of battery waste by recycling them for re-use by manufacturers.
The extension, the company said, also provides time for Technology Minerals to work alongside potential partners to complete a more thorough assessment of the asset's scale, grade continuity and potential value within its Mantle framework. The Mantle Strategy underpins the company's approach to building sovereign capability in critical minerals.
The St Patrick Research Permit includes the historic Aramo Mine, a site with past production that could offer near-term development potential. With the extended licence now valid until 2028, Technology Minerals gains breathing room to evaluate the project's viability as part of its broader strategy to secure domestic supplies of metals essential for batteries and defence applications.
The announcement comes as the UK government pushes for greater self-sufficiency in critical minerals, aiming to reduce reliance on foreign supply chains. Technology Minerals' progress in Spain could play a role in those efforts, though the company still faces the challenge of proving the asset's economic viability before any development decision.
