Ukrainian woman disguised as man hunted over Monaco parcel bomb that left billionaire's partner with both legs amputated

A Ukrainian woman suspected of planting a parcel bomb that seriously injured a sanctioned multi-millionaire in Monaco disguised herself as a man and spent days casing the luxury apartment building before fleeing to Germany, prosecutors have said. Anastasiia Berezovska, 39, is wanted for attempted murder after a remote-controlled explosive device detonated in the entrance hall of a residential block in the La Rousse district just before 21:00 local time on Monday. The blast – which one resident said sounded like 'thunder coming from behind the mountains' – left three people critically injured: Vadym Yermolaiev, a 58-year-old real estate developer originally from Ukraine and now a Cypriot national; his partner, 46-year-old Anna Nasobina; and his 13-year-old son. Nasobina had to have both legs amputated, while Yermolaiev was left fighting for his life. The teenager was admitted to hospital but was not in a critical condition. Monaco's deputy prosecutor Morgan Raymond said investigators believe Berezovska did not act alone and are searching for possible accomplices. CCTV captured the suspect wearing a dark bucket hat and tracksuit, depositing the package before fleeing on foot. She was then seen driving a hire car through Italy and into Germany. Her last known residence was in the Main-Taunus district of Hesse, where German special forces searched a rented apartment on Thursday. They seized a vehicle and evidence, which will be handed over to Monegasque authorities. Interpol has issued a Red Notice for Berezovska, who has Ukrainian nationality, speaks German, and is believed by Ukrainian sources to have been born in Kazakhstan, hold a Russian passport, and live in Crimea – giving her access to Ukrainian documents enabling easy travel across the European Union. They also describe her as pro-Vladimir Putin with ties to organised crime. An image released by Interpol shows Berezovska with dark shoulder-length hair and a tattoo on her right arm 'possibly' depicting a snake. Police have warned she is 'armed and dangerous' and should be approached 'with extreme caution'. Monaco's public prosecutor Stephane Thibault praised 'effective international criminal cooperation' that allowed authorities to identify the suspect in a 'particularly short time'. The explosion is believed to have been a targeted attack – local media report Yermolaiev, a wealthy businessman sanctioned by Ukraine, was the intended victim. One resident, Silvano Ippolito, who lives across from the building, recalled seeing Nasobina with her 'feet missing' before all three were rushed to a hospital in Nice. 'There's nowhere safer in the world,' he said of Monaco. 'Things like this have never happened here before.'
