Yan Diomande has confessed to a love for Liverpool before any transfer activity has even taken place, as the club's new manager Andoni Iraola works on a bumper summer window.
The promising winger's declaration comes with seven Liverpool stars currently taking part in the World Cup across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Reds initially had eight representatives, but Wataru Endo dropped out of the Japan squad due to a foot injury, meaning he will no longer face Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk when the Netherlands take on Japan on Sunday night.
“Promising winger Yan Diomande has confessed his love for Liverpool as the club prepares for a busy summer transfer window.”
Van Dijk is joined by Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch for the Dutch, with Florian Wirtz representing Germany, Alisson between the sticks for Brazil and Alexander Isak up top for Sweden. A number of transfer targets are also in action over the next few days, with Reds scouts likely taking in matches throughout the tournament.
Back at Anfield, Iraola and his backroom team are working hard on transfers ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the club linked to players across the pitch. Diomande's public affection for the Reds adds intrigue to what already promises to be a busy window.
Liverpool will be keen to build on a strong base, with key figures like Van Dijk and Alisson still at the club. But the World Cup commitments mean several first-team players are away, leaving Iraola to focus on reinforcements before they return.
