Aldi launches £20 cooler and £3,000 giveaway to help families beat summer costs

As the school holidays approach, Aldi is rolling out two initiatives designed to ease the financial squeeze of summer: a new mini cooling range, including an air cooler for under £20, and the return of its Summer Support Scheme, which will give away more than £3,000 in vouchers.

The supermarket is urging parents to apply to its Summer Support Scheme for a second year, with one winner selected every day of the school holidays to receive a £50 voucher – meaning more than £3,000 worth of Aldi vouchers will be handed out throughout July and August. Families can use the vouchers on whatever they need most, from fresh food and cupboard staples to household essentials and summer treats.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “The summer break can put extra pressure on finances, especially when it comes to keeping children fed, entertained and active during the holidays. As the UK's cheapest supermarket, we're committed to helping families make their money go further all year round, and this scheme is another way we're supporting parents during one of the most expensive times of the year.”

To apply for the scheme, shoppers need to submit their name and email address to SummerSupportScheme@aldi.co.uk. The scheme forms part of Aldi's wider commitment to supporting families, and follows the launch of the Mamia New Parent Fund earlier this year, which gives away £100 Aldi vouchers to parents every week for a whole year.

For those looking to stay cool without breaking the bank, Aldi’s new mini cooling range includes a Dreo turbocool 765S air cooler, priced at less than £20. In her review, Joanne Lewsley praised its performance, writing: “If you’ve got the space and want something that properly shifts air, the Dreo turbocool 765S delivers powerful, whole-room cooling with ease.” She also noted how quiet it was, claiming it can drop to around 20dB on quieter modes. “Performance is standout. Airflow feels strong and consistent, and the brand’s ultra mist tech works brilliantly, producing a super-fine mist that cools the air without leaving any dampness behind,” she added.

Neither the end of the heatwave nor the application deadline for the Summer Support Scheme has been announced, but families hoping to win a voucher are being encouraged to apply now.
