Arsenal’s pursuit of a new No.10 has become a two-front battle after Paris St-Germain emerged as rivals for both their primary target, Morgan Rogers, and his alternative, Morgan Gibbs-White.
The Gunners have made Aston Villa’s 23-year-old playmaker their top choice this summer, following a campaign in which Rogers scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 55 appearances. But Villa’s £80m valuation – and PSG’s interest, fuelled by their Champions League triumph – have forced Mikel Arteta to consider other options.
“Arsenal face competition from PSG for Morgan Gibbs-White as they seek a No.10 after being priced out of Morgan Rogers.”
That has turned the spotlight onto Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White. The 26-year-old enjoyed a fine 2025/26 season, netting 18 goals and registering seven assists in 53 matches, yet missed out on Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the upcoming World Cup. According to reports, Gibbs-White is on Arsenal’s shortlist as a potential alternative to Rogers – but the Gunners now face competition from PSG for his signature as well.
The development adds urgency to Arsenal’s summer plans. While Rogers remains the priority, the presence of PSG in both negotiations could force the north London club to move quickly or risk missing out on either player. Gibbs-White, who has drawn considerable interest after his consistent performances at the City Ground, would represent a proven Premier League option – but at 26, he also carries a higher price than the younger Rogers.
Meanwhile, the transfer market continues to swirl with other moves. Real Madrid’s new coach Jose Mourinho is eyeing Bernardo Silva after the Portugal midfielder left Manchester City, while PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is reportedly the mystery player Florentino Perez plans to target if he wins Madrid’s presidential election. Tottenham remain interested in Brazil winger Savinho, and Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa has said he needs more playing time before deciding his future with new boss Andoni Iraola.
For Arsenal, the immediate question is whether they can land their first-choice No.10 – or whether a late dash for Gibbs-White will be enough to see off PSG’s advances. The answer may define their summer.
