A new daily brainteaser has arrived for football fans: a "Who am I?" game in which players must identify a mystery footballer using as few clues as possible.
Each day, BBC Sport publishes a new player, and the challenge is to guess their identity in the fewest attempts. After every wrong guess, an additional clue is unlocked. The fewer clues used, the higher the score – three points is considered good, while four or five is exceptional.
“BBC Sport's daily quiz challenges fans to guess World Cup star No 42 with as few clues as possible.”
Today's player is World Cup star No 42, with the clues set by BBC Sport's Adam Millington. The quiz invites participants to return tomorrow for the next puzzle.
For those hungry for more, BBC Sport offers dedicated Football Quizzes and Sports Quizzes pages, along with a range of other challenges including naming every nation at the 2026 Fifa World Cup, listing the 10 Lionesses with the most England caps, identifying top nations' leading World Cup scorers, and naming every club in the Premier League and EFL.
The quiz is free to play and users can sign up for notifications to receive new puzzles directly to their device. The game has quickly become a fixture for football enthusiasts looking to test their knowledge.
