David Beckham’s decision to remain in his seat as Wimbledon’s Royal Box emptied out after the men’s final on Monday has earned rare praise from world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka. The tennis star singled out Beckham for staying put while other celebrities deserted Centre Court – a gesture that contrasted sharply with the exodus that followed the conclusion of the men’s singles. On Tuesday, a fresh wave of famous faces arrived for day two of the Championships, with Richard Osman and his wife Ingrid Oliver leading the pack. Osman, 55, wore a light-blue summer suit, while Oliver, 49, opted for a cream and black pinstripe suit. The couple, who married in December 2022, were seen studying the programme with interest. Nearby sat former England cricketer Stuart Broad and his wife, Saturdays singer Mollie King. The pair coordinated in neutral tones, with Mollie in a vintage-inspired two-piece suit. Broad, 40, and King, 39, share two daughters: Annabella, born in 2022, and Liliana, born last January. Directly in front of them, Irish actress Fiona Shaw, known for roles in Killing Eve and Harry Potter, wore a plum-toned shirt and was accompanied by her wife, Sonali Deraniyagala. Shaw was later spotted chatting to Bridget Jones star Celia Imrie, 73, who wore a white shirt with a floral design. Imrie last year won new fans after appearing on The Celebrity Traitors. BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James, 40, sat next to Broad and King, wearing a navy suit and colourful tie. Fellow BBC broadcaster Nick Robinson, 62, presenter of Radio 4’s Today programme, was also in the Royal Box and spoke with James. The day’s play on Centre Court was set to feature defending champion Iga Swiatek, Alexander Zverev and Serena Williams. Beckham’s loyal presence a day earlier appeared to have set a new standard for Royal Box etiquette – one that the Tuesday guests seemed determined to follow.
