Belgian player scoops £150m EuroMillions jackpot in Tuesday draw

A lucky ticketholder in Belgium has won the £150m EuroMillions jackpot in Tuesday night’s draw, matching all five main numbers and two lucky stars to claim the life-changing prize. The winning numbers were 2, 7, 23, 44 and 46, with lucky stars 3 and 5. The jackpot had rolled over from Friday’s draw, when nobody matched the top prize of £137m.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn, operator of the National Lottery, said: “This is a truly life-changing amount, with the power to make a lasting impact on you and your loved ones. Be sure to get your ticket early for your chance to win.” His comments came before the draw, as the jackpot swelled to its Tuesday total.

While no UK player claimed the top prize, several won significant sums in lower tiers. Three people who matched all five main numbers plus one lucky star took home £102,286.90 each, and four players who matched all five main numbers won £15,937.40 each. In the Thunderball draw, two players won £5,000 each after matching all five main numbers: 1, 16, 29, 33 and 39, with a Thunderball of 1. The Thunderball jackpot stood at £500,000.

The UK’s Millionaire Maker draw also created a new millionaire, with the winning code JRPN86253.

The EuroMillions draw takes place every Tuesday and Friday, with tickets costing £2.50. The overall jackpot can rise to €190m (approximately £167m). The game is played in nine European countries.

The UK has seen several huge winners in recent years. In May 2022, Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, became the UK’s biggest-ever EuroMillions winners after netting £184m with a lucky dip ticket. Their record did not last long: in July 2022, an anonymous winner claimed a jackpot of £195m. Prior to that, the record was held by an anonymous winner who scooped £170m in October 2019. In June 2021, a UK ticketholder won £111m, and in June 2019, a single ticketholder won £123m – instantly becoming as rich as Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.

Friday’s jackpot now stands at an estimated £14m. A Mirror poll found that 76% of readers would not go public with a lottery win, while only 4% said they would, with 20% saying they would only tell close friends and family.
