A man nicknamed 'Killer' who bit and sexually abused five girls, wielding a gun to terrorise his victims, was sentenced to 27 years in his absence after fleeing to Pakistan, as his two brothers were also convicted in a child sex abuse ring that operated in Sheffield.
Amar Ilyas, 41, and his younger brothers Kamran, 38, and Kamar, 39, were found guilty of a string of offences including rape of a child under 13, following a National Crime Agency investigation. One victim was just 12 when Kamar, then aged 17 or 18, raped her before introducing her to Amar, who went on to rape her weekly for three years.

Detectives said Ilyas 'remorselessly terrorised' girls, biting one and using an imitation firearm and threats of gang rape. He was convicted of five counts of rape of a child under 13, nine counts of rape, two counts of sexual activity with a child, three counts of indecent assault and one count of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. His brothers face sentencing at Sheffield Crown Court on 22 June.
Jailing Ilyas in his absence on Monday, Judge Peter Hampton praised the courage of the five women who gave evidence against him, saying their voices had finally been heard and they had been believed by jurors.
In a separate case, former Democratic Unionist Party leader Jeffrey Donaldson was found guilty of 18 historical sexual offences against two women when they were children. The current DUP leader said Donaldson had abused the trust of the party with his 'vile' crimes.
