Caravan park death: three arrested as woman charged with murder and university worker held over Widdecombe comments

Screams were heard at a caravan park in Llanelwedd as a 25-year-old man died despite the efforts of paramedics, prompting a police investigation that has led to three arrests on suspicion of drug-related offences. Dyfed-Powys Police were called to Penmaenau Farm near the Royal Welsh Show site following reports of a medical emergency. Eyewitnesses told WalesOnline they were evacuated from the caravan park, though police have not confirmed this. Penmaenau Farm Camping said in a statement that the site will be open as normal for the Royal Welsh 2026 event, which runs from July 20 to 23. The Royal Welsh Show expressed deep sadness, saying: "Our thoughts are with the young man’s family and friends." In a separate incident, a woman has been charged with murder after the death of a 75-year-old man in Bolton. Elsewhere, a University of Aberdeen employee has been arrested and charged over social media comments about the death of Ann Widdecombe. The three men arrested in connection with the caravan park death remain in custody.
