A 17-year-old girl was lured away from her friends and raped at Guildford railway station in a 'horrific' attack, British Transport Police have said.
The teenager was attacked after a stranger approached her and her friends as they were walking to the station on Monday, January 19, 2025, at about 7pm. When they reached the station, the man tried to make the victim board a train with her. She refused. He then asked her to have sex with him, which she also declined. After the group went outside the station again, the man separated the girl from her friends and raped her. She managed to escape and run back to her friends, who were waiting outside the station entrance.

Detectives have now released CCTV images from the station in a bid to identify the man they want to speak to. Detective Sergeant Nick Thompson said: 'The person responsible for this horrific crime targeted a vulnerable victim who was just 17 years old at the time of the attack. Specialist officers continue to support her and her family as we follow all lines of enquiry as part of our ongoing investigation. We understand that this incident will cause concern among the local community and I am appealing to them directly to help us identify the man in these images. He may have vital information that could assist our investigation, so if you recognise him, please get in touch as soon as possible.'
In a separate appeal, police have released new CCTV images of a man pictured in the days before he was found dead in woodland in Cornwall. The death is being treated as possible murder.
