£69m EuroMillions jackpot up for grabs as winning numbers revealed

A life-changing £69m was on the line in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw – enough to buy a dream home, retire early, or see the world. The winning numbers, drawn shortly after 8.30pm, were 2, 12, 17, 25 and 39, with Lucky Stars to follow. Any player who matched all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars would claim the jackpot, while the UK Millionaire Maker draw – included automatically with every £2.50 ticket – guaranteed a separate £1m winner.

Earlier in the evening, the Thunderball draw took place at 8pm, offering a fixed top prize of £500,000. The winning numbers were 15, 17, 20, 24 and 31, with the Thunderball itself coming up as 13. To win the Thunderball jackpot, players must match all five main numbers plus the Thunderball number.

National Lottery draws raise around £30m each week for good causes across the UK. Tonight’s Euromillions jackpot was the second-highest available in recent months, though it remains well below the record UK win of £195m, claimed by an anonymous ticket-holder in July 2022. That payout overtook the previous record of £184m won by Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester in May 2022 with a lucky dip ticket. Before them, the UK’s biggest win was £170m, scooped anonymously in October 2019.

In June 2023, UK players enjoyed a particularly lucrative month: a ticketholder bagged £117.1m on 2 June, and another won £55m on 20 June. The EuroMillions game, launched in 2004, is played across nine European countries.

Whether any ticket matched tonight’s numbers – and who that lucky player might be – remains unknown. The results are in; the wait for a winner has begun.
