Fake phone chargers filled with modelling clay pose electric shock risk, Which? warns

Fake phone chargers stuffed with modelling clay are being sold by major retailers, consumer group Which? has found, warning that buyers are at risk of electric shock. In a test of 15 USB chargers purchased from well-known platforms, nine were so badly manufactured that anyone plugging them in faced a serious safety hazard. The findings highlight a broader concern over the safety of chargers sold online, with shoppers unknowingly exposed to potentially lethal products. Which? urged retailers to take immediate action to remove dangerous items from sale and called for tougher enforcement of safety standards.
