GTA 6 pre-orders begin 25 June as Rockstar finally reveals cover art

Rockstar Games has finally lifted the lid on Grand Theft Auto 6's pre-order date and official cover art, ending months of speculation over one of the most anticipated gaming releases to date. Pre-sales will begin on 25 June, the developer confirmed, available on digital stores such as PlayStation Store and through select retailers.

The announcement came in a thirty-second video showing the game's protagonists Jason and Lucia above the title, alongside additional characters due to appear in the sequel. Over a booming synth, the cover art nods to the fictional US state of Leonida – inspired by Florida – with flamingos and alligators, while fast cars, helicopters and motorbikes feature in the series' signature pop-art style.

GTA 6 is scheduled for release on 19 November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, after being delayed twice from an original autumn 2025 window and then from May. The previous instalment, GTA 5, launched in 2013 and remains the second best-selling game of all time.

Rockstar did not use Thursday's announcement to reveal the game's price, leaving the cost hotly debated among fans and analysts. A 2025 report from gaming industry advisory company Epyllion suggested GTA 6 could be the first major title to be priced at $100.

Fans are still eagerly awaiting a new gameplay trailer, after reveals in 2023 and 2025. Those two trailers, which offered deeper looks at the narrative and the lives of the protagonists, have accumulated a combined 446 million views.
