Lena Tindall steals the show with unicorn umbrella at Peter Phillips's wedding

Lena Tindall, seven, retained her title as the most playful royal at Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling's wedding on Saturday, joyfully entertaining guests with a unicorn umbrella as rain fell outside All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire.

Dressed in a floral white dress with pink shoes and a coloured ribbon in her hair, Lena was seen holding the vibrant umbrella above her father Mike Tindall's head, before erupting into a fit of laughter. Later, photographs showed Mike carrying the item instead, while Lena's older sister Mia, 12, watched on with a bemused expression.

Mia, Queen Elizabeth II's great-granddaughter, showcased her own sense of style in a sophisticated blue floral dress with a beige headband – but the real star of her outfit was a pair of glistening metallic heels. The sisters attended the private ceremony alongside nearly all senior royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the King and Queen. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were also present, marking the first time they have been included in a large Royal Family gathering since the arrest of their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not attend.

The bride, Harriet Sperling, a 45-year-old paediatric nurse specialist for the NHS, wore a stunning Emilia Wickstead bridal gown for the ceremony.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror: 'This was a much needed joyful day for the family, and a chance to show that they – or at least most of them – remain united in spite of all the damaging headlines of recent times.' Bond described the public outing by Beatrice and Eugenie as 'quite brave', adding: 'I thought it was quite brave of Beatrice and Eugenie to show up… knowing that the cameras would be on them. They've had a lot of highly critical press lately and it can't have been easy for them to face the media. But they did seem to keep quite a low profile, particularly as the bridal party left the church. I'm sure they were determined not to draw any of the limelight from the bride and groom.'
